In all the moons they’ve cycled through the seasons, over and over for so long, Leafbare never gets any easier. Unfortunately, while the clans hope it will dwindle soon, snows are deep and frequent, winds are strong, and hail and snowstorms are far from rare occurances. It feels to be one of the harshest Leafbares the clans have faced in a while, and it doesn’t show any signs of letting up just yet, often finding foxes from all walks of life hiding away in their dens or fighting through the snow. Prey in all the clans is scarce, the lake is frozen over, and it is treacherous too attempt breaking the ice to fish in frozen rivers. Lakeclan has been turned to hunting and foraging on land, but they are not the only clan to suffer from this shortage. Burrowclan and Fieldclan seem to be considering more and more risky methods to feed their own, and even the farmer seems to have stepped up security on his farm in recognition of the foxes’ desperation and will to survive. The clans can only hope that the winds change soon and warmer weather will begin to arrive. Sicknesses aren’t too bad just yet, but herb supplies are drastically low, and leaders have taken to trading to get what they need. For now they appear accomodating, but what will happen when they all want the same thing? Even Fieldclan is struggling to keep spirits high this season.

If the tensions amongst the clans themselves were not enough, with food and herb shortages alike, they may soon find themselves with more trouble than they bargained for. In their desperate state the clans haven’t seemed to notice much, or perhaps it simply isn’t their main concern, but it seems a group of Outsiders have taken shelter in the Burnt Nursery. No fox seems to know a thing about this group and what they want, or perhaps they simply aren’t willing to tell. However, in a season as harsh as this...chances are it may not be anything good.
