Food Shortage Event, Burrowclan
This Leaf-Bare is one of the harshest in memory, even for the most seasoned of foxes. Burrowclan has been hit hard- most of their prey seems to have hidden away for the winter and remains just as thin as the clan does, making the hunt often most costly than the reward. Foxes have been going hungry fairly regularly; most in Burrowclan have followed the advice of their seniors to munch on old roots and chewy strips of bark if only to lessen the hungry pangs and get something in their bellies at night. After over a moon of this, foxes in Burrowclan are likely getting pretty tired of going hungry.
Luckily, there's hope. A small spark- something that may die just as quickly as it was born should luck not be on their side, but if Burrowcla's plans were to succeed... the foxes of the clan would be able to sleep with their bellies stuffed full of fresh prey.

Timeline of Events....
- The Frosted Fields- Distressed by the unrelenting grip of leaf-bare and the hardship the clan has been suffering as a result, both Storm that Rolls Across Plains and Dawn that Quietly Stalks the Night had a similar idea (at separate times) to try and hunt for the clan during the pre-dawn and early-morning hours. Their efforts are met with little success, but by the time the pair meet within the fields- Storm managed to catch a skinny hare and Dawn had buried several caches closer to the border of food rations (mostly roots, a scrawny field mouse or two). While discussing the clan's troubles, an idea blooms. A Bait & Pounce.
- Dawn that Quietly Stalks the Night
- Storm that Rolls Across Plains
- A Plan for Prey- Roughly a day or so following the birth of plans, Burrowclan is called together for a meeting within the Large Den. Dawn takes the chance to voice her plans. Despite the odd nature of her scheming- the clan seems to be willing to try just about anything, either to avoid another hungry belly or out of a genuine trust in their leaders and the odd little plan. Storm and Blaze of Roaring Fire are among the first to speak up volunteering for the extra duties associated with the plan.
- OPEN PARTICIPATION - JUMP IN ANY TIME.
- Securing Better Bait- Not Yet RPed. Assigned foxes will venture out to collect more nuts, etc., to use during the bait&pounce. Problem is, they may decide it's easier to find nuts for the plan outside of Burrowclan... perhaps in another clan's territory, or simply farther than they'd like to be from their own. (conflict pending).
- Storm
- Dawn
- ASSIGNED FOX HERE
- Lying in Wait- Not Yet RPed. Assigned foxes will place the gathered bait somewhere in the Sparse Aspens (where prey has been seen/suspected). They will then wait for prey to venture towards the bounty before striking-- ideally securing prey for the clan, but this is not guaranteed. (possible predator event during this thread)
- Cascade
- Stump
- ASSIGNED FOX HERE
- A (Full/Empty) Belly- Not Yet RPed. The end result of the hunt will be shown here, with foxes of Burrowclan either going hungry once more (possible injuries from conflict/predators receiving treatment) or with their bellies stuffed full. Development heavy.
